International Council of Nurses 2021 Congress
The 2021 ICN Congress with the theme of “Nursing Around the World” was held using a virtual format for the first time in the history of ICN congresses. Having attended four past congresses in person on four continents, it was such an interesting experience to see how well a virtual event can work in this era.
The Congress concluded with the handover from past-president Annette Kennedy to new president Pamela Cipriano who introduced her presidential watchword ‘Influence’ in her remarks to participants.
Student Assembly: October 2021
The ICN Student Assembly was held on Oct. 23, with around 500 nursing students participating from around the globe. This virtual event took place in advance of the November Congress. It is good to hear about the student-led program and to gain a sense of their commitment and desire to influence the future of nursing.
